Why We Get Together
The Premise
Sometimes we just need a space to be ourselves.
When we gather—at work, at parties, even with friends—conversation can stay at the surface. Work, sports, family updates. All good, but not always enough.
Tuesday Men's Club offers a slightly deeper alternative: a space for honest conversation about what's actually going on inside.
What We're Not
This isn't therapy. There's nothing to fix. We're not here to give advice or solve each other's problems.
We're here to listen. To be heard. To sit with whatever is true right now.
What We've Learned
After 17 sessions, some patterns have emerged:
- Vulnerability begets vulnerability
- Silence is underrated—and rare in modern life
- No matter the age, we want to connect with others and sometimes have a hard time
- Sharing something specific may be exactly what someone else needs to hear
- In-person meditation hits different than an app
- "When was the last time you giggled?" is a harder question than you'd think
- Scrolling LinkedIn doesn't help
- We talk about boogie boarding more than you'd expect
- Zane always brings cookies
- Ice cream helps
